This is a slight variation to the traditional ripple pattern. You could adapt this for a scarf.
Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn
Size H crochet hook
Ch 40
Row 1: Sc in second chain and the next 3 stitches, sc2tog in next two stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, 3 sc in next stitch, sc in next 4 stitches, sc2tog in the next two stitches, sc in next 5 stitches, sc2tog in next two stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, 3 sc in next stitch, sc in next 4 stitches, sc2tog, sc in next 4stitches. Ch 1 turn,
Row 2: Sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog in next two sc, sc in next 4 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog in the next two sc, sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog in next two sc, sc in next 4 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog in the next two sc, sc in next 4 sc. Ch 1 turn
Repeat row two until desired length, finish off.
