Chevron Egg


So now that it is egg making season, I present to you my chevron egg pattern. As you can see I made a bunch of these using a variety of differnt yarns and hook size. I like using the fingering weight with the size e hook.

So here is my pattern:

This egg is made in continuous rounds.
Chain 2, (or make a magic ring)
Row 1: 6 sc in second chain from hook (or in the ring)
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc
Row 3: *3 sc in next sc, skip 1 sc* around
Row 4: Skip 1, *5 sc in next sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 5: *sc in next sc, 5 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 6: *Sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 7: *Sc in next 2 sc, 5 sc in next sc , sc in next 2 sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 8: *Sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, skip 2 sc* around
Repeat row 8 three times
Row 9: *sc2tog, sc in next sc, 3sc in next sc, sc in next sc, sc2tog, skip 2 sc* around
Start stuffing egg
Row 10: *Sc next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc next 2 sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 11: * sc 2 tog, 3sc in the next sc,sc 2 tog, skip 2 sc* around
Row 12: *Sc in next sc,3sc in next sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc* around
Row 13: *Sc 1n next 3, skip 2 sc,* around, end skip 1
Row 14: Sc evenly around
Row 15: *sc2tog, sc in next sc* around
Row 16: Sc evenly around
Row 17: sc2tog around 
Finish off.

  9. Thank you so much for this lovely chevron pattern for a easter egg. My grandchildren get a lot of chocolate and sweets for easter so I always make them an egg either paper mache, sewn, crochet, painted etc. So this year it will be easy and especially good as my 10yr old granddaughter loves chevrons. At some stage I will run out of ideas and she will be sick of getting eggs but I will cross that bridge when it comes. They all appreciate my home made gifts and always want more even when its not a special occasion. I sometimes indulge them (well try to after all what are Grandma's for). Thanks again
