Ribbed Hat Pattern

In a previous post I had mentioned in a previous post that I had made this hat and it is going to be donated to Hat not Hate  program.

I had since had made this hat using Tivoli worsted weight yarn. I believe this yarn is discontinued . I had gotten this yarn as part of a Lucky Bag from Hobbii. I started out with orange, then realized that one ball was not going to enough so I integrated a ball of green. Each ball is 50 grams and 191 yards. So this hat will need about 400 yards.

Now on to the pattern:
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn - medium size 4
J hook

Make 12 dc in magic ring or chain 4 and slip stitch to make a ring
Row 1: ch 2 (doesn't count as dc) 2 dc in every dc (12 dc)
Row 2: ch 2, [2 front post dc (FPDC) around next stitch, dc in the next] repeat around, slip stich  to join
Row 3: ch 2, [FPDC around the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch], repeat around, slip stich  to join
Row 4: ch 2, [ FPDC in the next 2 stitches, back post dc (BPDC) around the next stitch, dc BETWEEN the dc that you just did the BPDC around and the next dc, BPDC around the next stitch} repeat around, slip stich  to join.
Row 5: ch 2, [FPDC around the next 2 stitch. BPDC around the next stitch, FPDC around the next stitch, BPDC around the next stitch] repeat around, slip stich  to join.

Repeat row 5 until the hat measures about 7 inches or desired length. If desired, finish off with a row of HDC's with a size I hook. Finish off.

This next hat I made with Caron Sprinkle Cakes. I wasn't paying attention when I bought this online. It is a super bulky weight 6 and I am not a fan of bulky yarns. I made the hat with a size K hook and started with only 10 dc for the starting ring. So take this as a tip if you want to make a smaller hat, start with 10 dc.

I have to say, this hat is nice and warm.
