This pattern makes a textured surface, which I found to have a nice massaging effect. I had used an I hook and my washcloth turned out big. I really have not gotten a chance to test this with a g hook.
Materials:
Worst-weight cotton yarn
G crochet hook
G crochet hook
Ch 28
Sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in remaining chains, ch 1, turn
Row 1: sc in first sc, *tr in next sc, sc in next sc* repeat across, ch 1, turn
Row 2: sc in every stitch, ch 1, turn
Row 3: sc in first sc, * sc in next sc, tr in next sc* repeat until last 2 stitches, sc in last two sc.
Row 4: repeat row 2
Sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in remaining chains, ch 1, turn
Row 1: sc in first sc, *tr in next sc, sc in next sc* repeat across, ch 1, turn
Row 2: sc in every stitch, ch 1, turn
Row 3: sc in first sc, * sc in next sc, tr in next sc* repeat until last 2 stitches, sc in last two sc.
Row 4: repeat row 2
Repeat the four rows until the desired length.
