I just finished my cat and she is cute. My grand daughter insisted it be a girl and that I name her Elsa.
So the pattern comes out of the book my husband bought me for Christmas.
This does have British instructions, which means that I use single crochet instead of double crochet mentioned in the book. If you ever come across a pattern that has British instructions, just remember to take it down a level. For example:
tc = dc
dc = sc
sc = slip stitch
So the book recommends alpaca yarn. I used Fixation for my cat. For my next animal project, I might look for alpaca or maybe an undyed yarn.

Love Love Love this!! My friend and I were just talking about how we want to make these but can't seem to teach ourselves how to crochet or knit. Sadly, we can't figure it out. You did such a fantastic job, I'm sure your granddaughter will love it. :)
