U Boho Bag

 

My latest pattern is how to make this U Boho Bag.  I call it the U Boho Market bag because of the U design in it. Feel free to use a variety of colors to really give it the Boho feel. It is made up of a front and back panel with the sides and bottom of the bag connecting the front and back.

Materials
6 balls of cotton medium-weight yarn about 600 yards
size g hook
2 stitch markers

Make 2 panels for the front and back of the bag

Foundation row Chain 33.

Row 1: dc in the 4th chain from the hook. dc in each chain except for the last chain (30 dc). 6 dc in the last chain. Place markers in the 2nd and 5th dc in the 6 dc group Working on the other side of the foundation chain, do a dc in each chain (30 dc). (66 dc, chain 3 from the beginning counts as a dc), chain 4, turn

Row 2: Chain 4 represents the first dc and a chain one. skip the next dc, *dc, ch 1* in the next stitch,  [skip the next dc, * dc, ch 1* in the next dc] repeat until you reach the first marker. *dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1* in the next dc, mark the chain 3 space, *dc, ch1* in the next 2 dc,  You are at the next marked stitch, *dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1* in the next dc, mark the chain 3 space, *dc ,ch1* in the next stitch. [skip the next dc, * dc, ch 1* in the next] repeat until the end of row, dc in the turning chain. chain 3, turn

Row 3:( known as dc row) dc in every dc and chain 1 space until you come across the marked chain 3 spaces, 5 dc in the ch 3 spaces, place your marker in the 3rd dc of the chain 5 groups.,  when you finish the row, chain 4, turn

Row 4: (known as fillet row) Chain 4 represents the first dc and a chain one. skip the next dc, *dc, ch 1* in the next stitch,  [skip the next dc, * dc, ch 1* in the next dc] repeat until you reach the first marker. *dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1* in the next dc, mark the chain 3 space, *dc, ch1* in the next dc,  [skip the next dc, * dc, ch 1* in the next dc] repeat until you reach the next marker. *dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1* in the next dc, mark the chain 3 space, *dc, ch1* in the next dc, [skip the next dc, * dc, ch 1* in the next dc] repeat until the end of row, dc in the turning chain. chain 3, turn

Rows 5-13: Repeat rows 3 and 4 ending with row 3, You have 6 dc rows done, not including row 1. finish off your panel

Connect the two side panels by making the sides and bottom.

Make sure the wrong sides are together.

chain3, sc in the first sc of the first panel, turn, skip the sc, sc in each chain, sc in the first dc of your second panel, sc in the next dc, turn, *skip the first 2 sc, sc in the next 3 sc, sc in the next 2 dc of the first panel, turn, skip two sc, sc in the next 3 sc, sc in the next two dc of the second panel., turn* repeat until you reach the other end of the bag. your last row could only have one stitch left

Top of the bag

Row 1: sc around - Do two single crochet for each dc and fillet row and 5 sc along the sides of the bag. Finish off

Handles

Locate the right side of row 7, or the third dc row after the foundation dc row on a panel, sc in the sc of that row that is closest to the center. chain 50.


Locate the left side of row 7, or the third dc row after the foundation dc row on a panel, sc in the sc of that row that is closest to the center, sc 2 tog in the same stitch you just did the sc in and the sc in the next stitch, turn.

Row 1: skip 2 sc, sc in the next 50 sc along the handle,  sc 2 tog in the same stitch of the sc (on the panel) of the previous row, and the next sc on the panel.  sc in the next sc on the panel Turn




Repeat row 1 four more times

Last row:   skip 2 sc, sc in the next 50 sc along the handle,  sc 2 tog in the same stitch in the sc (on the panel) of the previous row, and the next sc on the panel, finish off.

Make another handle on the other side.
