I love making this snowman! This snowman turned out so cute! I have a video along with written instructions on how to make this snowman.
Materials
Medium-weight yarn in white, brown, orange for the nose, and any color for the scarf and hat
Crochet hook, size G
scissors
yarn needle
stitch marker
polyfill/fiberfill
Optional materials: Safety eyes
The snowman:
Working in continuous rounds would be helpful to mark the first stitch with a stitch marker.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring
Round 2: 2 sc in every sc (12 sc)
Round 3: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next sc* around (18 sc)
Round 4: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next 2 sc* around (24 sc)
Round 5: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next 3 sc* around (30 sc)
Round 6: slip stitch in the next stitch, sc AROUND the same sc, and in each sc around (30 sc)
Rounds 7-10: still working in continuous rounds, sc in every sc.
Round 11: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next 3 sc* around (24 sc)
Round 12: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next 2 sc* around (18 sc)
Round 13: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next sc* around (12 sc)
Fill the bottom half of the snowman with fiberfill
Round 14: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next sc* around (18 sc)
Round 15: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next 2 sc* around (24 sc)
Rounds 16-19: sc in every sc.
Round 20: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next 2 sc* around (18 sc)
Round 21: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next sc* around (12 sc)
Start filling in the middle tier of the snowman.
Round 22: *sc2tog* around (6 sc) finish filling the middle tier
Round 23: 2 sc in every sc (12 sc)
Round 24: *2 sc in first sc, sc in the next sc* around (18 sc)
Round 25-27: sc in every sc (18 sc)
Make the facial features on the snowman. Put in the safety eyes or sew some eyes. I did a french knot in orange for the nose. I did not sew in a mouth because it would have been covered up by the scarf, but you can sew in a mouth.
Round 28: *sc2tog in next 2 sc, sc in the next sc* around (12 sc)
Round 29: *sc2tog* around (6 sc) fill in the final tier, and finish off the snowman.
Making the arms:
Locate where you want the arm on your snowman, Slip stitch around the sc and chain 10, slip stitch in the second chain from the hook and the next sc. ch 3, slip stitch in the second chain from the hook, and the remaining chains. finish off and do the other arm.
Making The Scarf
Chain 30 or desired length, sc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. chain 1, sc in each sc. Finish off, add fringe if desired
Wrap the scarf around the snowman as you like and sew it into place.
Making The Hat
Chain 10, sc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. chain 1
[Working in the back loops, sc in the second chain from the hook, and in each chain across. chain 1] repeat 12 more times, 14 rows total
Slip-stitch or sew the first and last rows together to form, the hat gather and close one end of the hat.
Attach the hat to the top of the head,
