Hello! and welcome to this month's Sustainable Pinterest Challenge. This month's project is Winter. I immediately thought of this snowman. This door decoration has seen better days. the arms are missing, its nose is falling off, it's missing the bell in the middle, and the sections are coming apart. This snowman needs to be saved. I used the image from this Pin as inspiration to fix up my snowman,
Here is the final result. I kept the scarf, the bells, and the eyes. I took off the nose. I had some heart buttons, I sewed one where the middle bell used to be. I made arms and put hearts on the hands. I made a hat and added a heart to the hat. I had to secure the sections of the snowman that was falling apart. I did a French knot for the nose and added a mouth. Overall I am happy with the result. I have been wanting to fix this snowman for a while and I am finally glad I got it done, it turned out cute.
Time to check out other winter-related projects.

Oh he turned out super cute! Bless him, he was so forlorn and now he looks so cheerful. That crochet hat is really sweet, did you make up the pattern or is it one you found somewhere?
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the heart buttons too. How lovely to zhuzh up an old decoration instead of just throwing him away, you'll enjoy displaying him for many years to come.
You've created a brand new snowman, Julie! He looks adorable with his top hat and added hearts! Frosty doesn't have anything on him, lol! What a fun restoration!
