I have a video out on how to make the star stitch. I have done videos on my original patterns, but I thought I would make a video on some stitch patterns. I have done the chevron pattern already, so I thought I would do a start stitch.
Foundation row: draw up a loop in the second chain from the hook, draw up a loop in the next three chains, and you should have 5 loops on the hook. Yarn over and draw through all five loops. Chain 1, this will create the “eye” of the star. *Insert the hook in the eye and draw up a loop. Insert the hook in the last stitch you worked on, and draw up a loop. Draw up a loop in the next two chains, Yarn over, and draw through 5 loops. Chain one to create the eye.* repeat until the end of the row. Chain 1, turn
Half double crochet row (wrong side): two half double crochets in each “eye”, do one more half double crochet at the end of the row at the turning chain.
Star row (right side): ch 2, draw up a loop in the second chain from the hook, and the next 3 half-double crochets. Yarn over and draw through all five loops. Chain 1 to create the eye. *Insert the hook in the eye and draw up a loop. Insert the hook in the last stitch you worked on, and draw up a loop. Draw up a loop in the next two half double crochets, Yarn over, and draw through 5 loops. Chain one to create the eye.* repeat until the end of the row. Chain 1, turn
Repeat the half double crochet row and the star row until you have the desired length, ending on a half double crochet row.
