I got so much positive feedback from a crochet Facebook group that I decided to write a pattern and make a video.

The hat in the picture is medium-weight cotton, but I am using acrylic yarn in the video.

Materials include a size H hook, worsted weight yarn, a stitch marker, scissors, and a yarn needle.

Row 1: 6 sc in a magic ring or chain 4 to create a ring and 6 sc in the ring.
Working in continuous rounds. Use the stitch marker to keep track of the rounds.
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc.
Row 3: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next stitch.
Row 4: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 2 stitches.
Row 5: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 3 stitches.
Row 6: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 4 stitches.
Row 7: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 5 stitches.
Row 8-12: keep increasing 6 stitches in each round until you have 72 stitches. It should measure about 6 inches.

Making the top ridge.

Slip stitch in the next stitch, chain 1. sc around the sc, not through the loops, and in each sc.

Then working in continuous rounds again. sc in each sc until the hat measures about 4-5 inches from the ridge, or until it covers the ears.

Making the brim:
Row 1: *2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 3 stitches* repeat around
Row 2-4: sc even around
Row 5: *2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 3 stitches* repeat around
Row 6-8: sc even around.

slip stitch in the next stitch and finish off. Enjoy your hat!

I hope you get a chance to check out the video and please subscribe to my channel. I try to post a video every week.
