Rainbow Fidget Toy

Here I have another cute fidget toy, the inspiration for this is based on a sticker my daughter gave me. There is a track on the rainbow that you can trace with your fingers to help with meditation or something for your hands to do.

You could change colors in every row or you can leave the track in just one color. I have a video tutorial on how to make it along with written instructions.

Materials:

Worsted weight or size 4-5 yarn, in rainbow colors or colors of your choosing

Rainbow colors:

Red

Orange

Yellow

Blue

Green

Indigo (dark purple)

Violet (light purple)

Size g hook or hook size appropriate for the yarn

scissors

yarn needle

optional stuffing if you make it into a pillow

Make the rainbow backing

Row 1: ch 2, 4 sc in the second chain from hook, ch 1, and turn

Row 2: 2 sc in every sc, ch 1, and turn

Row 3: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 4: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 5: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 3 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 6: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 4 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 7: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 5 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 8: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 6 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Row 9: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc*2 sc in the next sc, 7 sc in the next stitch* repeat across, ch 1, and turn

Make the base row. Turn the work upside down, ch 1 and work 1 sc along the ends of the rows, 18 sc total. Finish this off.

Make the tracks.

With red or the color you choose, join with an sc AROUND each sc starting with row 8.

At the end of the row, you can change to the next color (orange), now you are going to do a sc around the sc from the base row associated with row 8 and proceed with doing an sc around each sc of row 7.

At the end of row 7, you can change to the next color, sc around sc in the base row associated with row 7, and proceed to sc around each sc for row 6, repeat in this manner, and end with row 2. Finish off,

So what you do next is up to you, your project could be done. I made a little pillow in the video. I did another rainbow backing and base. With the wrong sides together, sc through both sc's of the two rainbows, I did 2 sc's at the corners, stuffing as you go.
