Crocheted Handbags

I have started to make purses/ handbags in hopes to sell them and supplement my retirement income...or at least my offset the yarn habit :)
Both of these purses are made with Red Heart super saver yarn. Instead of a fabric lining, I crocheted an additional lining. The Peruvian print is a spider stitch, the back and white is the diagonal block stitch.

Ripple Tube Socks

I tried out making tube socks using the common ripple stitch. Overall I like how it turned out.

I used sock/ fingering weight yarn I bought in Germany. I might try to publish a specific pattern for these socks using yarn readily available in the U.S.

I used a 2mm hook ( a favorite plasitic hook I bought in Turkey).

I ended up with 10 cheverons, I used three colors...Orange, Black, and Off-white. I did two rows of each color for a total of 36 rows. I wanted to make the sock so it was about 7-8 inches long (my ankle size) It was closer to 9 inches, but it worked out.

For the toe:

36 sc along the end. Working in continous rounds:
Round 1: sc in the next 4 and sc 2tog, around. (30 sc)
Round 2: sc around
Round 3: sc in next 3 and sc 2tog, around (24)
Round 4: sc around
Round 5: sc in next 2 and sc 2tog, around (18)
Round 6: sc in next sc and sc 2 tog around (12)

This means that there is going to be a seam to make the tube of the sock. I do not notice the seam at all.
