This is an easy slouchy hat pattern featuring Ferris Wheel Yarn by Lion Brand.
I like how this hat turned out. Did I mention it was easy?
I do feature a different way to join and move onto the next round.
Starting each round after the join: ch 4, start the round is the last stitch you just did. so, you are moving back a stitch. Or if you want, you could use the invisible join method in my ring hat.
Materials needed to make the hat:
Ferris Wheel yarn or any size 4 weight yarn.
Size J crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle
Stitches used:
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
Round 1: make a magic ring or ch 4 and slip stitch to make a ring. make 10 dc in the ring. join with first dc
Round 2: ch 4, moving back to the stitch from the last row, 2 dc in each stitch around, join (20 dc)
Round 3: repeat round 2 (40 dc)
Round 4: ch 4, moving back to the stitch from the last row, *2 dc in the stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch* repat around join (60 dc)
Rounds 5-20: ch 4, moving back to the stitch from the last row, dc evenly around.
Round 21: ch1, sc in the same stitch and in each stitch around, finish off.
Check out the video on how to make the hat:
What to make the hat bigger or smaller? Experiment with changing the beginning number of dc's in round one, like starting with 12, 8, or 6 dc's
Let me know what you think of the hat.
